Aurex Diamonds operations were established in November 2007 for purposes of cutting and polishing rough diamonds and selling on the local and international markets. Formation was done in partnership with Livingstone of India, a technical partner who had experience and knowledge in the diamond industry.
In March 2016, Aurex acquired state of the art machinery from India to cut and polish rough diamonds. The company has core staff that has already been trained in the art of cutting and polishing diamonds by expatriates from India. Aurex plans not only to value add the country’s rough diamonds, but to champion the setting up of a diamond cutting and polishing value chain industry in Zimbabwe.
The new plant has capacity to produce between 2500 and 10000 carats per month of polished diamonds depending on the size of the rough diamonds. The new plant is also easily scalable depending on the acquisition of more machinery and the supply of rough diamonds.
Aurex cut and polished diamonds are available for sale to local and international buyers.
