Getting married to the right partner is everyone’s dream and hope, so if one finds his or her better half my advice is “get married now”. You only live once, right? Planning for a wedding requires proper organization by getting ideas of venue, wedding colors, food, decor and activities. With the ongoing global pandemic of COVID-19, the mind-stressing question strikes : “should I postpone or cancel my wedding?”, and my answer is proceed with the wedding but take note of the following procedures when planning:
Set your budget
Remember your wedding comes once in a lifetime for most people, so plan accordingly. I once had a conversation with a friend who was planning for her wedding, and it went like this:
Me: What’s your budget like?
Her: You know what, I don’t have such a huge budget, I will invite about fifty people. No need for wedding planners because the wedding can be combined with the Lobola/Roora day. No need for expensive venues because the wedding will be held at the backyard of our home with at least some nice décor, including a few things like sanitizers and extra masks. I feel like this pandemic came as a blessing in disguise to me as I won’t be spending much ….hahaha.
Set the date
With this pandemic stay organized always. Schedule your dates on any day but if you want huge wedding celebrations schedule in months where cases are low and there are relaxed lockdown measures, mainly in summer. Annie Lee, a USA based wedding planner phrased it just right when she said “there has been an unpredictability and capriciousness to when government updates COVID-19 rules so couples continue to plan for both hopeful and cautious scenarios until the pandemic is truly behind us.”
Choose your venue
Venues for a wedding may depend on the activities to be done. You can decide on outdoor, for example, a garden wedding where social distancing works perfectly or at home in your backyard where every close family member will be present.
Get your rings
Choose something of a good value. You can afford to blow the budget here since all other cost will be low and you can afford to splurge on your dream rings which you will hold on to as a symbol of your love forever. A ring from Aurex Jewellery which is timeless and genuine and can be made according to your specifications. Click here to see our wide range from sterling silver to gold – 5k, 9k, 14k, 18k, 22k.
Stream the ceremony
Since gatherings are allowed to only a limited number of people, not everyone will be able to attend your wedding. Create a social media page on either Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube to stream the ceremony for all your loved ones to be able to witness your nuptials in real time.
Here are some WHO guidelines on how to hold small gatherings safely.
