Aurex Holdings (Pvt) Ltd is the holding company for Aurex (Pvt) Limited, a major local jewellery manufacturer, and Aurex Diamonds (Pvt) Limited, which cuts and polishes diamonds mined in Zimbabwe.
Aurex is wholly owned by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. Its objective is to be a centre of excellence in the beneficiation and value addition of Zimbabwe’s precious metals and gemstones (gold, silver and diamonds) in line with ZimAsset.
Recently the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Dr Chipika, visited Aurex on a guided tour of the Jewellery Manufacturing Plant and Diamond cutting & polishing centre.

During the tour, the Deputy Governor had an opportunity to go through all the jewellery manufacturing processes.
In 2016, Aurex Diamonds commissioned a high tech diamond cutting and polishing factory and the Deputy Governor, Dr Chipika, also had an opportunity to tour the plant guided by Aurex Management. The Aurex factory has installed capacity to cut and polish between 2500carats and 10000 carats per month, depending on the quality and size of the rough diamonds feedstock. The company employs a team of Indian expatriates who are working with the local team to ensure smooth skills transfer and the development of the desired working culture.
